Factual Notes: According to the Journal of the American Medical Association, the third leading cause of death in America (after cancer and heart disease) is medical doctor directed treatments [and drugs].
According to the United States Department of Health and Human Services, 15,000 Medicare patients a month are killed by MD treatments.

We have a very good health care system in Croatia, but, of course, everybody has to think about doctors and pharmacists as human beings. They are so human, so imperfect, they can be mean, deceitful, stupid, corrupt, naive, wise, honest, selfless, just like any other human being. Also, science had a lot of breakthroughs in it's history when undeniable truths became stupid delusions over night. I have had very nice experiences with doctors, and they have almost cost me my life once because of their stupidity (they said that they almost lost me, he, he). That is the reason that everybody has to take their advice cum grano salis (with a grain of salt), or, better, cum petra salis (with a boulder/rock of salt), but the same goes for the alternative. I often use alternative ways of solving my health problems (whenever I see that they work).

I think you said somewhere about not trusting doctors or taking one's health into one's own hands. I'm a believer in that!

I'd join the fitness community if I didn't have a gym set at home, which I do, and if I didn't circle the neighborhood plaza on foot for 20 minutes each weekday. That keeps me fit enough for an old codger.

Come on in and encourage the younger set. Share your motivations and what keeps you at it.

Aside from Methuselah, everyone is the younger set to me. I couldn't offer anything much. It's just a good idea to maintain your weight and muscles, such as they are, as long as possible. I've been doing light exercise for decades. People tend to overdo it, weary of it, and quit. I'm 72, and I weigh the same as I did when I was 21. It's fun. Got no health issues. And really not difficult. Weight problems, more often than not, are emotional.

Congrats yrmy. Hope you get those fine people in shape but sorry I won't be one of them. I like my couch too much.

I exercise, but not the sweaty, painful way(s) most fitness-types prefer. ;D

Thanks!

Start at your toes. Wiggle 10 times. See there! Not so hard, is it?
